Thank You For Yoga

Theme song: Thank you for hearing me

As many of you know, my (our) yoga teacher, B.K.S. Iyengar, died yesterday.

Mr. Iyengar has been in my life since I was 23. I studied with a few of his closest students and a handful of times directly with him and his family.

I became an Iyengar teacher myself, and the teachings have been a strength, a joy, and a refuge for me.

His passing marks the end of an era for me and many, many others.

Mr. Iyengar was a revolutionary, central to the development of yoga internationally.

I will always be grateful for priceless gift of yoga and Mr. Iyengar's role in allowing me that gift.

I feel so sad I cannot face reading about his death and all the other well-deserved fanfare, but I know that his influence and teachings will live on, unfurling into the infinite.

As we say, Namaste.

May the truest and purest within my heart greet the truest and purest within yours.
